Kevin Threlfall - Contemporary Artist
Working in an expressive and intuitive way, I try to capture experiences that are fleeting and that dissolve into the next; landscapes held together by rhyming connections of shape, line and colour.
Growing up surrounded by the Pennines, a place of stark beauty and primordial wildness, I developed a love of the countryside and nature, whatever the season, whatever the weather. I became fascinated with the landscape, vast or small, thunderous or quiet: from rugged hills to babbling brooks, contorted trees and deep undergrowth to windswept moorlands. The form, colour and textures of these wild places provide constant inspiration.
